Is it really free?
Yes, you can learn without paying. There's no paywall in the middle of a lesson.
Does my progress sync between phones?
Yes, with an account. Create one with an email and password (or sign in with Google) and your lessons, HOs and streak are saved to it — install Langulect on a new phone, log in, and you carry on exactly where you left off. Without an account everything still works, but it stays on that one device.
Is there an iPhone version?
Android first. iOS isn't available yet.
Why can I only install it from Google Play?
Langulect verifies at launch that it came from Google Play. It keeps repackaged copies carrying malware out of circulation and protects your data.
Do I need a mic for the speaking exercises?
Only if you want scored pronunciation. Without mic permission the speaking prompts fall back to self-assessment and the lesson still completes.
Can I skip ahead if I already speak some of the language?
Yes. The first unit of every level is open immediately. Clear a higher one on your first attempt at 80% or better and the levels below it are credited in full.
